In the aftermath of the misdeeds of former owner William Peed, whose business corruption inflicted lasting wounds upon the villages of South Cambridgeshire, a new era emerged at Histon Manor. In 1899, the Harding family moved in. Ambrose Harding, accompanied by his wife Adele and their one-year-old daughter Rosamund, assumed guardianship of the estate, heralding a quirky and interesting chapter in the house’s history.

Present owner, Katherine Mann, will explore the family's impact on the village, particularly during the tumultuous period of World War I, their pioneering efforts in establishing a private zoo in the gardens, and the architectural changes they wrought upon the manor house itself.

Gain a deeper understanding of life within a small Cambridgeshire manor house during this turn-of-the-century era.
