Research Bursaries for 14-19 Year Olds
The Histon and Impington Village Society (H&IVSoc) is pleased to announce a new initiative to encourage young people in our community to engage with and research the local history of Histon and Impington. We are offering a £250 bursary for students aged 14-19 to complete a unique research project on a lesser-known aspect of local history.
Project Requirements:
Research Focus: Your project should explore an under-researched aspect of Histon and Impington’s history. This could include topics such as the history of local groups (e.g., Scouts), forgotten figures, house histories, or any other local topic that interests you.
Output: A minimum 1500-word paper, properly cited and researched.
Support: Successful applicants will be paired with a mentor, who will provide up to 3 hours of guidance and support throughout the project.

Eligibility Criteria:
Age: 14-19 years old.
Location: You must either live in Histon or Impington, or attend a school in Histon or Impington.
Copyright & Public Sharing:
The winner of the bursary will need to agree to share the copyright of their work with the Society. This will allow the work to be published and shared with the wider community. The winner will also agree to be named in any publications or presentations related to their research.
